Through more than 100 regular season games against the Tampa Bay Lightning in their history, the Devils have over 60 wins against their Eastern Conference rival. In addition, the Devils have two series wins in the three postseason matchups between the teams, one of which came in 2003 en route to New Jersey's second Stanley Cup title.
In the 2023-24 season, the Devils and Lightning squared up in three contests, with Tampa Bay winning the season series.
In the 2024-25 season, the Devils and Lightning matched up for the first time on October 22 at The Rock, with the Lightning taking the win. Their second matchup on November 16 in Tampa resulted in another Lightning victory. Their final matchup of the regular season is January 11 at Prudential Center.
